If you’re an experienced Drilling Supervisor, you could help Shell to meet the world’s rising demand for energy. Advanced technologies are helping us to successfully unlock new energy resources and efficiently develop existing oil and gas fields. This is your chance to be part of a skilled and dedicated team that’s leading the way.

This is a key role where you’ll manage all day-to-day well operations including planning and scheduling; resource allocation; cost control; and reporting. At the same time, you’ll ensure we fully comply with Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) policy. The aim is to deliver high quality, cost-effective wells according to well programmes and to optimise operational performance by implementing the DtL (Deliver-the-Limit) process wherever possible. You’ll identify and share any lessons learnt, using your experience to shape future operations.

There’s a good chance you’ll be working among people from different cultures, whose first language may not be English. It’s therefore important that you can communicate clearly and with authority, leading by example and inspiring colleagues. The minimum of a diploma or preferably a degree (or equivalent) in a technical or engineering subject is essential and we’ll also be looking for experience in well engineering or drilling. In fact, you should have worked as a Drilling Supervisor previously and honed your leadership and operation skills, particularly in respect to HSE awareness and management. Experience of areas such as high pressure/high temperature, under-balanced drilling and extended reach drilling environments would be an advantage. IWCF-qualified, you’ll be familiar with well analysis software and able to work independently when required.

Join us and you’ll be supported to follow the Shell Group “Round 2” Distance Learning Programme with the aim of obtaining this qualification within two years.

At Shell you’ll not only progress your career, but play an important role in an innovative company that offers excellent rewards and benefits.

Let’s deliver better energy solutions together.
