A leading Logistics Group to recruit a Warehouse Manager for its operations in Nigeria.  The warehouse manager is responsible of planning, organizing and controlling of a warehouse’s over-all operations in multiple warehouses in Lagos and in the North; he organizes activities & assigns jobs accordingly to the staff. He also has to manage stock control, the receipt, storage, retrieval of goods. In most cases, the manager has to supervise shipment loading & transferring and keep records of documents by entering data into the system.
The position is based in Lagos.The responsibilities for this office shall include but is not limited to the following:He has to plan out all warehouse resources and activities in keeping with the company’s objectives and targetsHe also makes plans for the development of the staff by organising training sessions together with the HR departmentHe has to ensure that all the health and safety requirements are met and also has to take responsibility for the security of the building and stockHe has to maintain and issue inventory report, entry and exit status report, dead stock report, goods age report, consumption report, manpower status report to the logistics managerHe should also find out and implement cost reduction measures in all aspects of warehouse transactions and activitiesHe must also create daily work logs and do audit of daily labour and billing reportsHe should suggest measures of improvement and development of the warehouseHe must also motivate his staff to make an effective and efficient teamHe also has to negotiate rates with common carrier representativesA bachelor’s degree in commerce or management degree may be requiredA minimum of 8 years work experience in a similar position.He must have good leadership skills and take charge of the warehouse operationsHe should be organised and systematicHe should motivate his staff and be good with numbersTeam oriented and outgoingExcellent communication skills encompassing written, verbal and presentation skills.If your experience, personal characteristics and qualifications meet the position specifications and your personal objectives are to seek such a challenge, then we would like to hear from you with details of your current earnings, up to date CV and explanation as to why your achievements to date fit you for consideration.
