They are currently recruiting for the position of Head, Cost Engineering, based in Nigeria.

Job Description

Development, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of Cost Management & Reporting for provision of overall projects portfolio cost, budget, variance analyses, and advisory services to the Major Projects General Manager for timely and effective control of cost overruns and contingency management.Responsible for skills assessment, training and final hiring decisions for all Cost Engineers.Discipline Head for The Clients Cost Engineers discipline, responsible for competence assessment, development and deployment of staff.Continuously define, review and update cost control methodologies and tools to perform economic analysis and evaluations in all The Client's Central Engineering and Major Projects suit of projectsLead and/or participate in project cost audits/reviews, and QRAs during concept development, conceptual and detailed design basis.Provides assurance on compliance to established standard processes, procedure and guidelines for Projects on Cost Control.Provision of cost control inputs into Field Development Plans, new projects, facility upgrades and Operations to enable effective cost control activities, utilizing screening studies, budget control, cost database management, contingency and commitment control tools and methodologies.Champion application of Global Practice on Cost Engineering in execution of all The Clients Central Engineering & Major Projects.Support The Clients Finance functions in quarterly compilation and review of funding restraints/requirements at the Corporate Budget Control Committee reviews to ensure optimal utilization of available funds for value realization of The Clients business objectives.Liaise with Client and coordinate the roll-out of the portfolio of project control processes in The Client's Global Project Controls Standardization Programme within The Clients Engineering and Major Projects Teams, to ensure global best practices are deployed for enhancement of The Clients business values.Drive and manage exploitation of best practices in Cost Engineering and benchmarking internally and externally with IOUs and other Client OUs.

Skills & Experience

A university degree in Engineering or Science, with extensive experience in the E&P business, with extensive time spent in a project environment, including field/facilities engineering.Strong project management skills with extensive demonstrable project management experience.Strong skills in Project Control processes with evidence of having managed and communicated Project Performances on various projects.Strong skills on Cost Management including working knowledge on managing costs and methodologies/tools for cost estimates.Strong skills on Resource and Schedule Management with demonstrable evidence of having executed such.Ability to solve problems, think outside the box, and deal with complexities.Skilled on The Clients Enterprise Management tool SAP including good knowledge on application of the Business Warehouse element.

This is a contract position.

The rate for this position is negotiable.
