Function: OtherJob descriptionThe Operations Manager West Africa will be responsible for general management of all operations of the different fleets of vessels.The position is based in Lagos.ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities for this position shall include but is not limited to the following:Ensure high standards in maintenance and preparation of fleets in the different countriesFull supervision of the maintenance operations of vessels: planning, repairs, inspectionOversee all new building activitiesEnsure maximum availability of all vessels for clients useFollow up with all fleet managers in each country on all operations on a day to day basis.Definition of global operation program about new buildings, ships operation, budgetary performance and any untoward incidents on vessels in the fleetInterface with the fleet managers and consolidate daily reports from them.Coordinate voyage planning for boats leaving the base or coming in.Prepare Sailing Orders, journey management planning and monitoring.Supervise fleet managers in the preparation of delivery/Redelivery notes for vessels going on/off hire. Follow up to get them signed and uploaded into the online database as well as the office file.Follow and review KPIs of the company with a view to compliance.Follow tracking of vessels.Work hand-in-hand with all fleet managers to ensure that crewing needs are fulfilled and that crew are managed properly.Shall be involved with crew assessments and appraisals.Interface with the operations department of clients to coordinate vessel movement and also for solving problems arising from day-to-day operations.Qualifications et experienceMust have a degree or HND in a marine related fieldPossess a minimum of 8 to 10 years experience of which 3 years must be within the maritime industryMust have sea experience working at the minimum level of Mate/OOWAbility to multitaskLeadership skillsHonest and hardworkingHigh proficiency in MS Office applicationsNegotiation skillsCreative and InnovativeTeam oriented and outgoingAbility to work with little or no supervisionWhat is on offerExpatriate packageIf your experience, personal characteristics and qualifications meet the position specifications and your personal objectives are to seek such a challenge, then we would like to hear from you with details of your current earnings, up to date CV and explanation as to why your achievements to date fit you for consideration.APPLY ONLINE NOW Share
