78906 - Okwori Development Manager

Our client is an international Oil & Gas exploration and production company. Employing over 900 people, they operate several producing properties as well exploration and development properties worldwide. They are currently recruiting for the position of Okwori Development Manager, based in Nigeria.

Job Description:
* Working closely with relevant functional groups to create the costs, profiles and schedules to support all evaluation efforts to create an executable concept that can be designed, constructed and installed within the PSC timeframes
* Inherent and integral to this concept solution is a clear strategy on continuation or change-out of the existing FPSO
* Utilise leading edge procedures, processes and resources to lead to a quality FID decision.
* Peer Reviews of Commercial, Facilities and Subsurface aspects are a key part of this process
* Identify needs and assemble own PMT to successfully manage the concept selection/FEED phase, initially on a matrix basis whilst taking due regard of the current Facilities organisation and support services available
* Set up project specific scheduling and cost control procedures (including schedule, cost risk analysis and development of a fit-for-purpose cost breakdown structure) and successfully implement same.
* Establish a project risk register and develop mitigation plans for all major identified risks
* Establish Project budget, identify and raise Approval-For-Expenditure requests (AFEs) and proactively monitor performance of the same
* Ensure adherence to required regulations and standards
* Ensure Facilities Engineering discipline specialists are involved as appropriate in the review(s) of engineering deliverables
* Provide input to Technical Work Programmes and annual budgets as part of the annual business planning cycle
* Provide monthly reports in accordance with Facilities reporting requirements

Skills & Experience:
* Minimum of a University 2nd Class Honours degree in a petroleum engineering, engineering or relevant technical discipline
* Chartered preferred but not essential
* Extensive oil and gas industry experience in project engineering/management with considerable experience in front end engineering with considerable subsea engineering and working with FPSO design/business development experience
* Participated at a senior level in deep water subsea field developments with experience in Field Development Planning (FDP), concept selection and FEED for FPSO related developments with subsea wells
* Good understanding of subsurface (petroleum) engineering aspects as they are applicable to field development planning as well as having a track record of working with petroleum engineers in preparation of FDPs
* Extensive experience working internationally
* Managed multi-discipline teams of diverse cultural backgrounds
* Computer literate
* Ability to deliver quality products on time and within budget
* In-depth understanding of Project Management systems and the application thereof
* Sound understanding of the relevant engineering codes and standards
* Ability to manage project interfaces both internally and externally with contractors and authorities
* Apt presentation skills
* Fluent spoken and written English

This is a contract position.

The rate for this position is negotiable.
