Job Description

To provide Compliance support, primarily to Corporate Finance, Principal Finance, Research and Capital Markets businessesTo work on a global basis with the various regional and country compliance teams to ensure coordination and strategic implementation of compliance best practices for the respective businesses

Key Roles & Responsibilities

To implement appropriate compliance infrastructure and controlsPerform risk assessments, and provide efficient and practical adviceTo provide the compliance support for transactions and ensure transactions are conducted in a compliant mannerPro-active risk identification of regulatory changes or business developmentsDevelopment and maintenance of compliance policies and proceduresRegulatory risk managementProvide advice on new product and new business structuresSupervision of training requirements, monitoring, marketing activities, licensing and desk reviewsInterface with global product heads for standardization, reporting and efficiency

Qualifications & Skills

Either a compliance officer or qualified lawyer with a background in corporate finance, principal finance, capital markets and/or research experience with major investment banksExperience in regional regulatory issues in particular, in AfricaExcellent regulatory management and relationship skillsGood knowledge on rules and regulations on corporate finance, capital markets, principal finance and/or researchStrong communication skillsFluent English abilityStrong analytical and organizational skillsLeadership skills and management abilityCommitment to excellence

In compliance with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Act of 2004, all applicants should ensure that they have completed the mandatory NYSC programme. A discharge certificate will be required as evidence of completion of the programme. Where an exemption has been granted, a certificate of exemption will also be required.
