Job Title: Lead Risk and Safety Engineer

Major Accountabilities
HAZOP and HAZID leadership
Project management, production of project deliverables on time and to budget
Preparation of proposals, man hour estimates
Negotiate contracts with clients
Preparation of, and management of, both Qualitative and Quantitative Risk
Assessments, including fault tree and event tree analyses, hazard identification, FMECA techniques, risk ranking.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of methods, access to databases and access to appropriate software.
Lead a project team of Risk, Safety and Loss Prevention Engineers
Provide guidance to, and training of junior engineers in the preparation of their work.
Provide guidance and development of Junior and Graduate Engineers
Safety – Responsible for personal safety and safe working practices for the Business Unit. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.
Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the Business Unit

Job Specific Knowledge:

Industry Specific Experience
At least 5 years direct risk & safety experience in the oil and gas industry. FPSO and Subsea engineering experience will be an added advantage.
Education – Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or related degree
HSE Capability
Commitment to safe working practices and ability to promote safety consciousness within the department
IT Skills
Proficiency in the use of general computer softwares such as MS Office, MathCAD, PHAST, FRED, etc.
People Skills
Strong organizational skills as well as the ability to effectively communicate in English and take a leadership role over the group for which they have supervisory responsibilities.
Commitment to customer service and ability to assist others in applying knowledge and understanding in solving functional problems within area of expertise; Ability to maintain confidential information critical
