Copied: www.hotnigerianjobs.comUNICEF requires suitable qualified candidates to fill the positions below:Position: Training Specialist (Polio Eradication), NOD Vacancy Number: VN-NGR-04-2013Contract Type: Consultancy Duration:  11 MonthsLocation: AbujaPurpose:UNICEF Nigeria seeks the services of an experienced Training Specialist who will under the direct supervision of the Chief, Polio Communications be accountable for designing, planning and implementing training of front-line polio communications workers and will carry out the following tasks:The successful candidate will be expected to carry out the following duties: Guide the development and implementation of a learning needs assessment of the Volunteer Community Mobilized Network to inform the design and assess the impact of a capacity development strategy. Coordinate and support the development and implementation of an appropriate capacity development strategy for the VCM infrastructure of workers conducting social mobilization and interpersonal communication for community engagement, including developing appropriate content, modules and methodologies for a communication, social mobilization and other areas according to the needs of the programme. Support the development of a roll-out plan, including the identification of training focal points and training of master trainers within the capacity development strategy. Develop and produce relevant training materials and job aides to support the work of the field staff: Participate in the development of a revised vaccinator training package, with particular emphasis on improving IPC skills of vaccination teams Initiate a monitoring and evaluation framework to assess the impact of the capacity development plan. Copied: www.hotnigerianjobs.com Recommend alternative capacity development initiatives, which could include elements beyond trainings, such as mentorship, coaching, and ensure there are mechanisms in place to recognize talent, capture innovations, and scale up high performance among the front line communication and social mobilization workforce.Minimum Qualification & Competencies Advanced university degree in one of the disciplines relevant to the following areas: Health Education, Communication or other relevant fields. Minimum 12 years of professional work experience in development, training, communications, planning, monitoring and evaluation. Strong experience in conceptualizing and designing training, capacity development and evaluation including developing training materials and tools is required. Training in the area of health programmes will be an advantage. Fluency in English required. Knowledge and understanding of local language of the northern Nigeria is required.
