Receivables Accountant provides financial and clerical services, to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of transactions in various trade and other accounts receivable under his/her control in the company and its books of accounts. The position is also responsible for receipt application, debit/credit memo creation and accounts receivable collections. Balance sheet accounts allocated to the incumbent are to be reconciled in a regular and timely manner and adjustments promptly processed in SAP.

Perform the day to day processing of accounts receivable transactions by verifying that the transactions for accuracy and compliance with the company’s financial policies and procedures before processing them in SAP / company’s books.Perform daily research on issues raised regarding customer payments and resolve payment discrepancies within one to two days when this is brought to your attention.Carry out daily tracking of deposit activity at all the company’s banks where customers bank funds and ensure that all credits (and debit adjustments) are booked within one to two days of credit in the bank account. Also carry out daily reconciliations with bank statements and with the Treasury Team to ensure that all the credits are captured without any omission or errors, especially by the last day of each month.Reconcile and maintain customer statements on a regular basis to ensure that balances reflecting in their accounts are updated on a daily basis and present a true position in the company’s books. Propose adjustments to correct any discrepancies as soon as noted and within one to two days after you are aware and/or notified.Run weekly debtors’ balances and aged analysis report and follow up to ensure resolve issues which are invalid or overdue and that all customer balances are correctly reported in SAPCustomer Documents Filing, Cash application/Allocation against invoices and Maintain General Ledger
Maintain a good filing system that will ensure that all customer / accounts receivable customer files and records are accessible within a reasonable time and no more than a couple of minutes when requested for by users of such information, including reconciliation purposes.Monthly allocation of cash receipts against invoices – allocate specific customers or range of customers to be allocated each month before the trial balance is produced as part of the month end closing process.Reconcile all ship to party and sold to party transactions on a daily basis to ensure that these transactions are correctly booked in SAP and into the respective customer accounts, credit and debits, and any anomalies identified within two to three days and rectified in the relevant customer accounts.Initiate and process journal entries into various accounts.Balance Sheet Reconciliations, Year and month end closing
Prepare monthly analysis and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts allocated to you (including trade and other receivables balances) for all the company’s Group entities by the due dates, but not later than the 20th of the following month.Reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger and resolve differences – AR to FI at the end of each month.Ensure that all forex denominated accounts which you analyse, are revalued before monthly financial statements are prepared.Provide documentations and answer receivables-related questions during year-end audits for financial statements; prepare audit schedules and ensure that the information / data is provided within no more than three weeks during field audits by external auditors.A good Degree in Business or Finance/Accounting educationICAN/ACCA with understanding of IFRS Principles preferred2-4 years experience in accounts payable and general ledger accounting preferredProficient in Micro soft office with specifics in the use of Excel, outlook, PowerPoint, etc)Strong ethics, integrity and sound, logical judgementSelf-starter with high energy levelExperience and ability to promote a team environment.
