Employing over 100, 000 personnel in around 90 countries their strategy is to reinforce their position as a leader in the Oil & Gas industry. </P><P>They are currently recruiting for the position of Senior Geo-information Analyst, based in Nigeria. </P><P>Job Description: : <BR>* Strong understanding of the impact of geo-information in SCiN management of, and performance in, Health, Safety, Security & Environment & Social Performance (HSSE & SP). <BR>* Detailed knowledge of how geo-information or geodetic error can represent safety or environmental risk, and/or reputation exposure. <BR>* Participate in and lead HSSE-focussed activities as requested, and provide data, workflows and map products intended to be used in HSSE-critical activities. <BR>* Contribute to minimizing costs of projects without jeopardizing overall project objectives or HSSE performance. <BR>* Liaise with customers to influence project design, scoping and delivery. <BR>* Recommend relevant geo-information types to multiple supported project team(s) and customer groups, pro-actively ensuring acceptable data quality and demonstrable business value. <BR>* Promote and share the possible uses of GIS technologies with peers and customer groups, looking for improvements to benefit Geomatics and customers/projects. <BR>* Ensure that geo-information contained in project and company-wide data stores is high quality, accurate, current and attributed with proper metadata, published to the proper data stores and geodetically sound. <BR>* Design, deploy, and support scripts and models for workflow simplification and automation for a project team. <BR>* Provide assistance and training of project team staff. <BR>* Analyse the cost and technical performance of geo-information services, with the aim of harnessing newly developed technology (that has not yet been deployed in SCiN) to create business value. <BR>* Influence the revision and ever-greening of GIM standards and technical assurance. <BR>* Be aware of wider IT, Portfolio, and Data Management strategies. <BR>* Sharing knowledge and experience, recognising technology gaps and opportunities. <BR>* Act as technical coach to one or more staff within own discipline and team. </P><P>Skills & Experience: <BR>* Typically, a Geomatics or related degree (B.Sc.) from a recognised university <BR>* Nigerian Registered Surveyor (or international equivalent professional credentials) preferred. <BR>* Sound understanding of all of the subject matter areas, and demonstrable skills in GIM areas. <BR>* Ability to apply practices and techniques in GIS and related technologies. <BR>* Demonstrable knowledge and ability to recommend solutions for the hardware, software, and workflows necessary to deliver timely solutions for the business. <BR>* Knowledge of geodetic integrity issues and ability to implement standards. <BR>* Knowledge of common scripting languages and geo-processing libraries. <BR>* An understanding of the E&P business and where GIS and GIM impact on business decisions. </P><P>This is a contract position. </P><P>The rate for this position is negotiable. </P><P>If you feel that you are well suited to the above opportunity and would like to find out more please contact us for more information or apply by forwarding your current CV quoting reference 85521. </P><P>Contact Name: Adrian Davidson</P><br /><p><a href="http://jobviewtrack.com/en-us/job/85fe324c678c294a255b17f0dbf4381c.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">View the original article here</a></p>
