Family Health International (FHI) Nigeria is a public health and development organization working to improve the lives of the world's most vulnerable people. Since 1971, FHI has been a global leader in family planning and reproductive health and, since 1986, in the worldwide response to HIV/AIDS. Our research and programs also address malaria, tuberculosis, and other infectious and chronic diseases. Our partners include US and international agencies, governments, foundations, research institutions, and individual donors.
In Nigeria, FHI is currently engaged in providing public health services and undertaking research in HIV/AIDS, TB, malaria and reproductive health in partnership with the Government of Nigeria, under funding from the United States aid programs as well as from the Global Fund and private foundations and corporations. To strengthen our operations we are seeking qualified Nigerian candidates for the following positions:
Job Title: Senior Programs Officer
Location: Anambra State, Nigeria.
Description
The senior programs Officer, under the supervision of the Zonal Manager will provlae sup monitoring of project activities to the country and zonal offices.
Key Responsibilities Work with the Zonal Manager to provide support and coordinate the FHI Nigeria activities within USAID and PEPFAR guidelines and regulationsAssist in strengthening a system of reporting on program progress against stated objectives and monitoring and evaluation frameworksAssist the Zonal Manager in the development of program strategies, Sub-project documents, work plans and bUdgetsSupervise the work of the Program Officer and assist the Zonal Manager in the provision of programmatic assistance to local FHI partners in programming HIV/AIDS/STI activitiesWork with the Zonal Manager to oversee technical capacity building activities at the national, state and local government levels and for local implementing agenciesRemain informed on current programs and research in the STI/HIV field and hone skills by working closely with international prevention specialists
Minimum Requirements Masters degree in public health or the behavioral sciences with 5-7 years work experienceMinimum of 5 years in HIV/AIDS programmingExperience working with NGOs and CBOsCandidates with Bachelor's degree with 7-9 years experience will be consideredStrong knowledge of HIV/AIDS programming and project monitoring
