A newly established indigenous newspaper publishing company seeks to recruit competent and suitable qualified professional to fill in the position of Bureau Chief

Responsibilities:

·         The successful candidates will have oversight responsibility for the company’s operation in the Federal Capital Territory

·         He/she will direct and coordinate activities of reporters engaged in collecting, gathering and editing news sourced from/within the Federal Capital Territory

·         Direct the activities of field activities of field reporters assigned to the federal Capital Territory and its environs

·         Provide up-to-date news report on major happenings within the FCT

·         Manage operational budget plans to ensure optimum efficiency and effective utilization of resources

·         Lead the business development and  marketing efforts and source for advert placement opportunities clients and government agencies

Qualifications:

·         A good first degree in communications, journalism, English, or any related disciplines from a reputable university

·         Cognate relevant experience in media publishing, including the preparation of news releases, newsletters, and other information materials concerning programs and activities

·         Demonstrate ability to create and coordinate community partnerships

·         Proven experience in the management of departmental communications, strategic planning, community outreach and public relations programs

·         Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders such as government agencies, the media, public interest groups and community organizations

·         Experience in business development and marketing
