Position Summary: Pact seeks a Specialist in Nutrition and Food Security for a USAID Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) umbrella grants program in Nigeria. Recruitment is contingent upon successful award of the project. The OVC program will focus on service delivery including: food and nutrition services, health services, economic strengthening services, shelter and care services, psychosocial support services, education/learning services, and protection services. Potential activities that the Specialist would develop or support include, • Tracking and reporting on specific food and nutrition targets. • Ensure timely and appropriate implementation of Pact nutrition activities; • Provide technical support and guidance to staff implementing program activities, which may include introducing production techniques, supporting private-public partnerships, identifying community food security solutions and the integration of nutrition components into other sectors, including agriculture, gender, and livelihoods at a family and community level; • Writing and/or review of documents, results, survey, training materials, and assessments; • Collaborating with partners in designing program nutrition interventions; • Provide technical leadership and support for conducting nutrition and coverage surveys, as well as training staff in conducting nutrition surveys and assessments; and • Conduct nutrition training for project nutrition staff and partners implementing nutrition programs

Qualifications: •
• Effective written and oral communications skills that are essential to building relationships with donors, host country counterparts, and partner organizations. • Knowledge of local languages a plus. • Ability and willingness to travel. • Flexibility to live and work outside Abuja, potentially in Kaduna or Enugu. • Fluent English language skills, both written and spoken. • Nigerian candidates strongly encouraged to apply.

Education and Experience Requirements: • Bachelors Degree in a related subject area or equivalent work experience required. • Masters Degree or higher in a related subject area preferred. • 5-10 years of experience. • Experience with OVC development programming. • Minimum 3 years developing country work experience required, Nigeria experience preferred.
