Principal FunctionsSupport in the design of power system facilities and equipment and coordinates construction, operation, and maintenance of electric power generating, receiving, and distribution stations, transmission lines, and distribution systems and equipment provide Support during critical network incidentsSupport the senior Engineer in ensuring 100% power availability at all network sites. Track power outages with a vision of driving continuous improvement in network availability and service quality. (Root Cause Analysis) Support in the design and planning layout of generating plants, transmission and distribution lines, and receiving and distribution stationsDesign and plan all preventive and corrective maintenance activities, which include in-house team and contractors.Update technical documentation, drawings and operational logs pertaining to construction and maintenance activities.Preparation of drawings specifying type of equipment and materials to be used in construction and equipment installation.Respond to emergency faults and ensure that all faults are rectified promptly within contracted SLASupport in regular audit of M&E installations in for BTS,BSC MGW, and data centreComplete and submit reports covering all job activity. /Prepare reports covering all job activity.Estimate labour, material, construction, and equipment costsInspect completed installations for conformance with design and equipment specifications and safety standardsSupport in performing trials of Opex savings solution (power) on the BTS sites. Ensure the training of the operation on the mode operation of all power equipment (ATS, , Solar, Hybrid, UPS, Inverter, Rectifiers) used at sites
Educational RequirementsFirst degree or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or any relevant discipline.
Experience,Skills & CompetenciesAt least 2 years' experience on power planning, design, operation and maintenance.Good understanding of Power Generators, Ups, DC Rectifies, inverters and DX CoolingMust be confident, consistent and decisive in systems support issues and dealings with both internal and external vendor staffCandidate must have knowledge of electrical power, short circuit coordination, load flow analysis, protective device coordinationMust be a fast learner, with an ability to function under pressure.Experience with DC Power Engineering in the Telecommunications industry is a distinct advantage, coordinating complex technical projects including vendor knowledge at support or engineering design level.Ability to Develop Equipment and Systems SpecificationsKnowledge of Mechanical design and power systemsKnowledge of Telecommunications network operating principlesAbility to Develop Equipment and Systems SpecificationsClient/ Contractor/suppliers relation management.Specialized Knowledge of the Relevant Engineering Functional AreaStatistical and Operational Analysis and Reporting SkillsMicrosoft applications such as Word, Visio, VSS, ExcelKnowledge of Telecom business process and best practices
