The “RSVP” campaign is aimed at increasing citizens’ popular participation in the electoral process.  It is built around the common abbreviation that usually accompanies an invitation to an important event or occasion. RSVP: Réspondez S'il Vous Plaît. Therefore, EiE is using the four letters to represent the following:

1.        Register to vote

2.        Select credible candidates (having scrutinized the options)

3.        Vote!

4.        Protect your vote

The target audience for the RSVP campaign is urban Nigerian youth and will focus on educating and influencing their behaviour through the following platforms: New Media and Technology; Town Hall Meetings & Campus Storms; Traditional Advertising.

EnoughisEnough Nigeria (EiE) is a coalition of individuals and youth organizations committed to instituting a culture of good governance and public accountability in Nigeria through advocacy, activism and the mobilization of the youth population as responsible citizens. We are non-partisan, neither are we a platform for the actualization of any individual’s political ambitions.

Our ambitious goal is to mobilize 10 million young people, cutting across religious, ethnic and socio-economic divides in the country to be actively engaged in the electoral process by 2015.

Job Title:

IT SUPPORT RESOURCE, RSVP

Period & Mode of Engagement:

Full time for an initial period of 6 Months.  However, the engagement may be extended as the project requires

Primary Job Location:            

Lagos, Nigeria

Purpose:

1.        To lead the development, management & maintenance of the RSVP web portal

2.        To develop and monitor ongoing web based media campaigns

Reports To:

Project Manager, RSVP

Primary Responsibilities:

1.        Ongoing development of the RSVP portal

2.        Increasing the site’s search engine optimization and ranking through search engine ranking, meta descriptions and site sharing

3.        Establishing online marketing initiatives to increase site traffic (registration with other election related sites, sharing of news and blogs with other sites, engaging with other common-interest sites)

4.        Designing web pages including graphics, visuals, video and functionality in conjunction with EiE’s Technical Team

5.        Monitoring web traffic and providing monthly reports

6.        Providing troubleshooting support and liaison with web and email providers, as required

Secondary Responsibilities

1.        Assisting in the development of web publicity campaigns as required

2.        Building and maintaining required databases (Projects, pictures, etc)

3.        Developing web applications (e.g. mobile applications) as required

4.        Troubleshooting problems on the platform

Required Skills:

1.        Strong web design skills including knowledge of content management systems

2.        Proficient with Fireworks, Flash, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Dreamweaver, Photoshop, InDesign or other design and video-editing software

3.        Strong understanding of best practices for online usability and accessibility and search engine optimization

4.        Experience with online marketing initiatives

5.        Knowledge of database management programs

6.        Ability to design templates for e-newsletters and graphics such as banners and logos

7.        Ability to take content from concept to completion without monitoring

8.        Excellent initiative, organizational and time management skills

9.        Self-motivated; able to work independently as well as collaboratively with other staff

10.     Creative thinking; excellent communication and problem-solving skills and excellent customer-service attitude

11.     Knowledge of web trends and analytics

12.     Efficiency

13.     Attention to detail

14.     High degree of trustworthiness, discretion & confidentiality

Other Qualifications:

Post secondary education in Multimedia Design, Computer Science or Information Technology

Remuneration:

Fixed salary of N100,000 per month

N10,000 per month communication costs (Reimbursed)
