Ikoyi Nursery School requires the services of a qualified and experienced candidate for the position of: The Head Teacher will be responsible for creating academic polices, managing all teaching staff, developing the curriculum, and overseeing the schools daily operations· Monitor and support instructional activities, participate in and provide staff development, have deep knowledge of British curriculum and standards, evaluate and guide the instructional practices of teachers
· Collaborate with teachers to plan instructional activities and lessons, which promote developmentally appropriate student learning
· Oversee and formally evaluate the curriculum and the instruction of the teaching staff
· Communicate the vision of the school to all stakeholders, be an active listener, maintain cooperative professional relationships, provide opportunities for two way communication between school and parent community
· Procure and organize all instructional equipment and supplies
· Provide leadership and management of faculty and staff- recruit, hire, train and evaluate all staff members, motivate, and provide a positive work environment
· Handle all academic parent inquiries with professionalism and confidence
· Report to the school committee on a monthly basis without encouraging the need for micromanagement
· Work closely with Administrator to ensure that the school runs efficiently
· Promote the positive image of the preschool
· A Bachelor's degree in early childhood education with a specific understanding of the British curriculum Early Years Foundation Stage (required)
· A Master's degree in early childhood education or education administration (preferred)
· Minimum of 5 years of experience working for a nursery school teaching the British curriculum
· Experience in education management is strongly referred
· Ability to mentor and lead teaching staff· High degree of confidence to manage teaching staff and parent community· Ability to work well with parents and manage parent relationships· Critical thinking skills· Innovative approach to education· Ability to ensure that the British curriculum is properly adhered to within the classroom· Ability to work independently and make critical leadership/management decisions necessary for the school to function and growThe Administrator will be responsible for managing the non-academic activities at the school and the coordination of office operations, procedures and resources to facilitate effectiveness and efficiency
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities· Manage clerical, administrative and secretarial responsibilities and tasks for school's office
· Evaluate and manage janitorial staff performance
· Design and implement filling systems and ensure filling systems and ensure filling systems are maintained and current
· Establish procedures for financial and other record keeping and ensure that financial information is properly tracked and documented.
· Manage payroll and ensure that staff salaries are paid on time every month
· Liaise with financial institution partners
· Ensure the implementation of office policies and procedures
· Oversee adherence to office policies and procedures
· Payment of suppliers on time
· Ensure compliance with PAYE, withholding Tax, pension payments, NSITF
· Enter data onto Quick Books
· Preparation of Bank reconciliations
· Implement procedural and policy changes to improve operational efficiency
· Monitor and maintain office supplies inventory
· Review and approve office supply acquisitions
· Handle all non-academic parent inquiries
· Maintain a safe and secure school environment
· Report to the school committee on a monthly basis
· Work closely with the Head Teacher to ensure that the school runs efficiently
· Bachelor's degree from an accredited tertiary educational institution
· Proven track record of administrative and supervisory experience
· Knowledge of accounting, data and administrative management practices and procedures
· Knowledge of clerical practices and procedures
· Knowledge of human resources management principles
Intermediate-level computer skills and knowledge of office software packages· Strong communication skills
· Sound judgment and problem solving
· Ability to make decisions with confidence
