The role also involves developing long and short term strategy within overall group guidelines in assigned areas.
Plan, develop and implement strategy for operational management and development so as to meet agreed organizational performance plans within agreed budgets and timescales
Monitor the performance, progress and productivity of the Managers under his supervision
Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of operational management and development
Coordinate with HRM to organize and ensure Operations personnel training whether in house or outsourced to help keep their technical knowhow updated as required.
Monitor measure and report on operational issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales
Manage and direct reporting staff
Manage and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets
Liaise with other Functional / Departmental Managers so as to understand all necessary aspects and needs operational development, and to ensure that they are fully informed of operational objectives, purposes and achievements
Maintain awareness and knowledge of contemporary operational development theory and methods and provide suitable interpretation to directors, managers and staff within the organization.
Contribute to the evaluation and development of operational strategy and performance in cooperation with the executive team.
Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organizational requirements for Quality Management, Health and Safety, legal stipulations, and general duty of care
Compile the Executive Management Report from the Managers for submittal to the Board.
Must be a Civil Engineer by qualification and must possess at least 15 years’ experience.
MBA will be an added advantage.
Must have assumed similar (General Manager) position for at least 8 years.
Must possess a strong personality and ability to be a team player.
Must have ability to fluently speak and write English.
Must possess the ability meet people of high reputation and communicate eloquently.
Must be ready to move and transverse the entire country (Nigeria) spontaneously when the need arises.
