Propcom Mai-karfi is a six year Department for International Development (DFID) funded programme which has as its aim sustained increases in incomes of poor women and men engaged in selected rural markets in Northern Nigeria. The purpose of the project is ‘Increased employment and improved productivity in selected agricultural market systems in Northern Nigeria’.
GRM International is currently hiring an Environment Specialist to support the programme’s interventions in environment; identify markets for environmental goods and services that could be improved for the benefit of poor rural people and mentor colleagues to work with companies in these markets. You will categorize and compare feasible interventions; conduct sensitivity analysis, and build smallholder livelihoods.
You will demonstrate:
An advanced degree (masters or doctoral) in the field of social sciences, agricultural sciences, food security or a related field of study or an equivalent combination of studies and experience;Experience in working on donor funded agriculture or rural development programs;At least 7 – 10 years’ experience in undertaking analysis of the climate and environment issues that are relevant across the programme;Experience in developing M&E plans and carrying out evidence based research;High level analytical and influencing skills;Fluency in written and spoken English and Hausa;Nigerian Nationals are strongly encouraged to apply.Click here to review the complete terms of reference and the selection criteria.
