Position Summary
Futures Group is seeking a short-term Consultant (for authorized assignment of approximately 34 days) to develop a monitoring and evaluation (M&E) training manual that directly corresponds to the National M&E Plan for the Orphan and Vulnerable Children (OVC) Response in Nigeria and PEPFAR reporting requirements. This training manual will be used for training all individuals tasked with collecting, collating, analyzing, reporting, managing and/or using OVC information in the Federal Government of Nigeria (at national, State, and LGA levels), among PEPFAR Implementing Partners and community level service providers in the country. The consultant will work closely with the MEASURE Evaluation OVC team and M&E Technical Working Group of the National Technical Coordinating Group (NTCG) for OVC in Nigeria to ensure the Manual meets both local and international standards.
Key Responsibilities
• The consultant engaged for the tasks is expected to work closely with MEASURE Evaluation team and M&E Sub-committee of the NTCG and the OVC Division of the FMWASD for achieving the key deliverables.
• Develop a user-friendly Training Manual related to the National M&E Plan for the OVC Response in Nigeria according to project specifications.
• Submit brief progress reports weekly to the OVC M&E Resident Advisor.
Qualifications
• Post graduate degree in one of the following areas: social sciences, education, public health or other related field. PhD desirable.
• 5-7 years direct experience in program Monitoring and Evaluation. M&E experiences related to children’s (OVC) programming is an advantage.
• Must have demonstrated expertise in curriculum and training manual development and technical M&E writing.
• Clear experience as an M&E trainer.
• Ability to analyze the cultural context and adapt tools/methods to fit a specific context.
• Track record as a reliable consultant experienced in developing training curricula, manuals and modules in subjects of social services.
• Evidence of sound communication skills with diverse stakeholders
• Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to tight deadlines
• Fluency in computer operating systems (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Fluent in written English. Please submit a writing sample with application.
