[full-time] The Senior Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Advisor at Nigeria Northern Education Initiative (NEl)

Nigeria Northern Education Initiative (NEl) is a USAlD-funded project whose aim is to strengthen state and local government capacity to deliver basic education services by addressing key issues in the management, sustainability; and oversight of basic education.The project will also increase the access of orphans and vulnerable children to basic education and services such as health information and counseling in Nigeria’s two northern states of Bauchi and Sokoto. We are currently looking to fill the above position
The Senior Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Advisor will be responsible for overseeing all NEl M&E activities, conducting overall program M&E, and building capacity of staff and partners.The Senior M&E Advisor will be based in Bauchi and will report to the Chief of Party.
Based on project results and standard, develop appropriate models and tools for data collection, analysis, and synthesis.
Train staff in the use of these M&E models and tools.
Develop and implement project level performance monitoring plans for gathering, reporting, and ana­lyzing performance data.
Work closely with the management team to ensure that plans capture the scope and content of NEl results and objectives.
Ensure technical coordination of state-level M&E activities and obtain support from directorates and local government authorities as needed.
Work closely with the Chief of Party and M&E Advisor to manage support staff and consultants as needed to ensure the feasibility, appropriateness and timelines of all M&E plans and interventions in Sokoto state.
Ensure the timely production, coordination, and reporting of all state-level data: quarterly reports, M&F data, financial information, etc.
Participate in regular meetings and maintain regular communication with state level team counterparts, and with the Chief of Party, to ensure coherent planning, M&E practices, and project troubleshooting.
Represent the project in major state meetings and events as appropriate.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Educational and professional qualificationsA Bachelor’s degree/Higher National Diploma (HND) in Statistics or related fields with at least 7 years cognate experience.
Thorough knowledge of MS office application, including power point and Excel
Good English communication skills (oral and written) and fluent in Hausa Language,   working knowledge of USAID funded projects and other donors.
Required good interpersonal skills, flexibility in work and a team player attitude.
