than 12,000 people worldwide and operates in over 70 countries.Product Design and DevelopmentA Controls Design Engineer within the services Enginering team must be able to interprete a customer's specification/requirements to produce a practical and cost effective design/solution to meet the design or maintenance requirements.They should ensure that the design is correctly transformed into engineering drawings,Bills of materials,test procedures and ensure manufacturability of design.-Ensures that everything is done with integrity and compliance
-Ensures that the output from the group is of high quality
-Provides technical support and guidance to Global Service Team
-Generates work scope and task lists for the unit engineers
-Generates Software System Design Specification ensuring functional safety requirements for the system
-Complies with company and customer safety standards
-Maintains short-interval control for engineers
-Undertakes design and generates documentation to meet agreed deliveries
-Prepares documentation and utilizes ePIMS
-Complies with eTOPPS Procedures
-Reports engineering progress as part of the daily LOB
-Identifies VOR opportunities
-Identifies DPM opportunities
-Organizes equipment design reviews
-Identifies technical,schedule and commercial risks
-Reviews all relevant anlyses to verify findings and recommendations are acted upon
-Supports technical and project execution audits imposed by clients
-Provides engineering support during after sales manufacturing
-Attends close-out meetings/lessons learned
-Handles development of design specifications for software
-Responsible for Software development using In Touch,In Control or PLC
-Ensures integration of software with Deliverable Hardware
-Arranges testing & Fault finding to ensure quality of delivered software
-Supports all electrical aspects of the equipment portfolio-B.Sc Mechanical Engineering and an additional chartered/professional certification within the Engineering field
-A minimum of 8 years experience in heavy industrial manufacturing is essential
-Good understanding of Company codes of practice and relevant national & international standards.
-Appreciable product expertise within the GE Controls product portfolio
-Experience working offshore
-Flexibility to work across the full range of the Company products within their particular discipline
-Capable of working to and within the Contract articles
-Able to communicate effectively-verbal & written English
-Computer Literacy
-Capable of multi-tasking and working to agreed schedules and be 'commercially aware' in engineering solutions.-Must be self -motivated
-Ability to lead a number of engineers/designers
-Willing to broaden their knowledge across a number of products
-Knowledge of service maintenance procedures & processes
-Solid Oil & Gas industry knowledge>
