VACANT POSITION: ADVOCACY/COMMUNITY MOBILIZATION SPECILIST
LOCATION: Based in Abuja (with up to 50 travel)
SUPERVISOR: Deputy Chief of party (DCOP), C-Change Nigeria project.

The C-Change project supports communication component of the Nigeria national HIV and AIDS response at four levels: a) strengthening and improving the ability for the control of AIDS (NACA) to coordinate the National HIV/AIDS response; B) building the capacity of kogi and cross river state agency for the control of AIDS (SACA) to effectively coordinate their respective response; C)strengthening in-country social and behavior change communication (SBCC) implementation capacity through direct training/mentoring of USG Implementing Partners (IPs) and NGOs as well as through integration of SBCC training into tertiary schools’ D) Improving the medical response to HIV/AIDS through training/mentoring of journalist and capacity building for media houses. C-Changes, Nigeria’s scope has expended to include demand creation support to the National Accelerated Prevention of Mother-to-child Transmission (PMTCT) initiative as well as communication support to the Malaria Action Program for state (MAPS) Project.
To this end, C-Change is seeking an Advocacy/Community Mobilization Specialist to complement ots technical unit. The Advocacy/Community Mobilization Specialist will be responsible for the day to day implementation of the PMTCT demand creation and the communication support to the MAPS project. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of ten (10) years experience in designation/implementing at a national scope and a thorough knowledge of partners and stake holders within the Nigeria Health & development industry. www.nigerianbestforum.com

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direct supervision of the Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP), the Advocacy/Community Mobilization Specialist:
Coordinates program implementing activities with PMTCT partners and stakeholders
Provide strategic and technical guidance to PMTCT USIPs and other development partners
Reviews, revises where necessary, evaluates and monitors program work plans and performance
Prepares and maintains communications and provides information to the DCOP/COP. FHI 360 HQ, partners, donors and other external audiences;
Prepares project reports (Quarterly, mid-term and annual)
Promotes cooperation with the Nigerian Government and other allies, partners and stakeholders;
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the DCOP, the Chief of Party and FHI 360 HQ

QUALIFICATIONS
Masters’ degree in public health, social sciences, communications and other relevant field
A minimum of 10 years previous work experience preferably in International Development
5 – 7 years experience designing and implementing advocacy and community mobilization programs at regional and national levels
Must be able to initiate and lead program m activities in collaboration with college and with support from DCOP/COP
Sound and demonstrated project management experience. www.nigerianbestforum.com
Sound and demonstrated training skills
Working knowledge of USAID’s performance monitoring and evaluation methodologies and indications
Excellent oral and written communication skills load
Strong team building and networking skills and experience
Strong internet and computer software skills including MS Office suit programs
