Adexen Recruitment Agency is looking to recruit a shipping manager for Nigeria and Ghana. Our client is the largest independent shipping agency group in West Africa and part of an international conglomerate. The group seeks to grow its business due to expansion and exciting opportunities to enter the expatriate environment. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the shipping manager is responsible for overseeing the day to day activities of the shipping agency division of the group. The key responsibility is to ensure the profitability and the efficiency of the business unit.

The main responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following: • Profit centre management • Management of Staff • Liaison with overseas principals and interdepartmental relations • Logistics and facilities management • Customer relationship management • Background in shipping and forwarding is a must, preferably with a liner agency • Must have good communication skills and ability to manage people • Must be extremely energetic and be open to the challenges of working in a demanding environment • Must be an English speaker • Experience in Africa will be a distinct advantage
