Objective of the programme: The aim of the programme is to promote livelihoods in Nigeria through value chain promotion to increase economic growth, employment and incomes. The programme will be active in the Niger Delta region and will utilise the Making Markets Work for the Poor (M4P) approach to ensure that interventions are pro-poor and inclusive of vulnerable groups, working in close collaboration with the extractive industries to support community engagement.
Objective of the role: We are seeking applications from highly experienced experts in the fields of operations and logistics to help manage the efficiency and safety of the MADE team during the implementation stage.
Responsibilities
• Implement and maintain DAI’s security strategy, policies, plans and procedures • Maintain and operationalise the DAI Crisis & Incident Management Plan • Conduct Security Risk assessments of travel routes, project offices and residences / hotels • Forecast risk events and pre-emptive mitigations • Implement a travel management and risk monitor plan • Act as a bridge between field and corporate managers for issues related to security risk and crisis • Gather security information and establish an international and local network for information • Provide incident reports • Provide management training on security awareness and crisis management and instil a culture of security among project staff • Provide security briefings to the COP’s and all project staff • Provide DAI staff-orientation briefings for all incoming staff and / or periodic/situational briefings when requested. • Provide weekly and monthly situational reports to DGS home and COP’s • Manage and train guards • Coordinate and manage contracted personnel security details
Required Qualifications • Demonstrated experience in security management in a high risk environment • Previous or current experience working in Nigeria, including the Delta region • Proven interpersonal skills and ability to work with international staff • High standard of written and spoken English
Desired Qualifications • Previous experience working with an international development organisation, international assistance organisation, or international NGO • Demonstrated understanding of the role of a security manager in the context of development work • Educated either in security risk management practitioner level or related degree
