Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by a leading Oil & Gas company to recruit a Transport Manager for its Nigerian Operations.

The position is based in Lagos; the area covered is nation wide. He will report to the General Manager Supply & Distribution.

Job description
The Transport Manager will ensure safety in all transportation matters, to coordinate/supervise  and audit all company trucks. The transport manager ensures that all trucks in the fleet meet at least minimum standard requirement in safely transporting company products from depots to their delivery points without undue risks.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities for this office shall include but is not limited to the following:

To develop hich skilled professional transporters who can always respond to company’s transportation needsTo ensure regular training of distribution staff, Transaporters, Operation Managers and Truck drivers in line with PATROM and company HSEQ standards every year for them to appreciate and imbibe company’s vision for safetyTo ensure and coordinate RSDMs / transporters in organizing quarterly in house training for their drivers to compliment the company’s organized sessionsTo select and enlist standard trucks in line with PATROM specifications and de-list sub-standard trucks accordinglyTo coordinate the installation of on-board computers and other standardised accesorries (hoses, Flame panels, Hand rails e.tc.) on all trucks and ensure provision and usage of personal protective equipments by all driversTo assess from time to time the adequacy or otherwise of all trucks by ensuring and coordinating regular/ yearly comprehensive audit of all trucks in d company fleetTo ensure that all standard trucks in the fleet are branded in the new company normsTo formulate data base for truck fleet of the company and generate transport update on monthly basis to the top managementTo follow up on all accidents with necessary sanctions given to the defaulting transporter in pursuance of ensuring zero accident rateTo ensure adequate and timely rendition of neccesary divisional and departmental reports

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must have a B.Sc in an Engineering courseA Masters degree will be an addeds advantageMust have excellent communication & interpersonal skills at all levels and demonstrate a high level of initiativeMust be a good team player and posses excellent Leadership skillsMust be Honest and hardworkingMust have high proficiency in the use of MS Office applicationsShould be team oriented and outgoing.
