Responsibilities
• Direct research and advocacy strategy for the organization
• Create proposals and actively seek out funding opportunities from local and international donors, the private sector and government agencies
• Respond to calls for proposal and other opportunities as they are made available
• Reach out to partners that will be interested and can enhance the work of the organization
• Coordinate the public profile of the organization including the publication of necessary reports including the annual report, impact reports and evaluation reports.
• Produce quarterly updates, newsletters and other public profiles
• Manage relationships with donors, partners and potential partners
• Other tasks as deemed necessary
• Minimum of a Second Class Upper Bachelors Degree in Social Science, Business Administration, Mass Communications or related field from a recognized university. Masters Degree preferred.
• Minimum of five years work experience in fundraising or marketing
• Ability to work under minimal supervision, self-motivating
• Enthusiasm, patriotism, self-confidence, purposefulness and dedication
• Love for Nigeria, Nigerian culture and history and commitment to the advancement of African peoples
In summary, we are looking for an outgoing and innovative young person (or young at heart) who has the ability to find resources where they are, bring them out and put them to good use. The person will need to have a passion for the children and youth and see the importance of our work in order to effectively present the programmes and find resources for them. This person should be conversant with international grant proposals and should also have a familiarity with corporate CSR in Nigeria. The person should be willing to do what it takes to ensure the organization can be sustained and its objectives achieved both now and in the future.
