JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Principal Accountabilities
Working with the Assa North Design and Construction Teams and the PEA Asset Team, the Pipeline Asset Team and other asset teams where appropriate, take responsibility for the following:
-Act as focal point for all commissioning related matters in connection with the Assa North facilities to ensure readiness for operations in accordance with EP Projects guidelines.
-Provide support to the design and project engineering teams.
-Contribute to compilation of Operating Philosophy, O&M manuals, etc.
-Propose interface points to define the limits of commissioning, operations and maintenance responsibilities and obtain early agreement by surface facilities and asset teams. Ensure that these are compatible with design and construction interfaces and ensure the appropriate definition in contract ITT’s and similar documents
-Make design-related inputs with reference to pre-commissioning, commissioning and performance test / reliability runs
-Participate in audits and reviews e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, designs reviews, pre-start-up audits, etc. and make relevant recommendations.
-Provide support to construction/ commissioning teams in connection with the above.
-Ensure that timely arrangements are made for familiarisation and training of asset team personnel, as necessary to implement project schedules and facilitate smooth handover from project team to asset team.
-Write pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures, review those prepared by Contractors and ensure that final versions reflect the requirements detailed above. Ensure full participation and buy-in by the asset team from the earliest possible date.
-Specifically monitor and report on the availability of process fluid with reference to the schedule for commissioning, performance tests and reliability runs.
-Take responsibility for all pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for pipelines and end-of-line facilities, up to pre-agreed interface points with surface facilities teams. Liaise with surface facilities teams and contractors to ensure harmonisation of schedules, access, etc.
-Review Contractors’ HSSE and quality plans in order to ensure compatibility with Nigerian and Client’s Standards and specifications.
-Compile and issue timely, accurate and concise project progress reports.
Other roles and responsibilities include:
-Compile the closeout reports immediately upon completion of the commissioning activities, highlighting areas for lateral learning and suggested areas of interest for the post implementation reviews.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
-Minimum B.Sc. in core engineering discipline, with at least 12 years cognate experience in oil and gas facilities design, construction, operations and/or maintenance.
-COREN registered/ registrable.
-At least 3 years experience working as an OR&A engineer in a major project.
-Experience in a commissioning engineer role in at least two major oil and gas projects.
-Good technical and communication (including written) skills.
-Must have good networking skills, with a potential to develop strong leadership skills.
-Should have a self-starting ability, drive to succeed, and a proven achiever.
-Willingness to ask questions, learn and develop new abilities.
-Proven ability to deliver in a challenging environment.
