A global provider of oilfield services to the oil & gas industry have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Drilling Engineer to provide planning and execution for an offshore development project.
Duties will involve carrying out assigned work with particular emphasis on HSEQ performance and cost-effective delivery, ensuring that well design and construction procedures comply, liaising with Production and Subsurface teams and service companies to ensure that objectives are set and fully detailed in the procedures for each well, responsibility for composition of all programmes and programme amendments for the construction, re-entry and repair of a well, maintaining corporate reporting requirements, determining the specification and managing the procurement of equipment and services such as, Casing, cement, directional, bit selection, drilling fluids/well hydraulics, completion fluids, drillstring, data acquisition, well suspension and well intervention design work, completing modelling and design work to develop a fit for purpose casing design in line with applicable standards, coordinating and undertaking the recording and analysis of Lost time, providing technical analysis and solutions for well challenges, liaising and communicating with rig and service contractors in planning and operations processes, day to day office based well operations support, preparing statutory notifications to government and other parties, preparing cost estimates and AFE’s for planning and well construction/intervention/repair in line with policies and client requirements, work planning and scheduling, Providing technical support required in obtaining required permits, liaising with other disciplines such as subsea and completions when required, participating in the inputting and tracking of all project actions and key legislation, participating in the inputting and close out of all lessons, completing risk reviews and document required by the project, participating in client project meetings and weekly reporting requirements and managing all aspects of the required end of well reporting by all relevant service companies.
Applicants must have in depth knowledge of West African legislative requirements and at least 10 years experience in well design, planning, programming and AFE development.
