Candidates who are successful in their application will receive an attractive salary and remuneration package. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for all livelihoods and food security related activities of both development and emergency response projects
• Design projects in line with country strategy and needs on the ground
• Supervise and support the preparation of project proposals , projects and reports
• Ensure DRR strategies and sustainability/durability are incorporated in ongoing projects and in development of new projects
• Provide technical assistance to emergency planning and response teams for needs assessments and to develop appropriate emergency interventions
• Monitoring of the projects, internal and external reporting
• External representation of the organisation
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Degree in a field relevant to food security & livelihoods
• Minimum of five years professional experience of supporting food security and livelihood programmes for NGOs
• Strong programme/ technical, planning, coordinating, and reporting skills
• Proven experience in project design and proposal writing
• Experience working in emergency settings or insecure environments
• Proven experience in staff management, supervision, staff development, training, and capacity building
• Strong negotiation, communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills, with experience in managing multicultural teams
• Computer literate (MS Word, advanced Excel, email software, internet browsers); GIS desirable
• Excellent written and spoken English, professional fluency in other languages is highly desirable
