Job Summary:
The role of the Sales & Marketing Manager for Nigeria (a key strategic market for the Client), is to develop that market for the Board’s brand, by working with trade channels, advertising agencies and our appointed distributors in Nigeria.
The position will have a strong business development focus and the suitable candidate will liaise closely with the Area Manager in Dublin, ensuring they are fully informed of sales progress, market trends, competitor activity and new business opportunities.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
1. To achieve the sales volume and value budget set for Nigeria. To develop and implement a sales and marketing strategy for the market, to include sales volumes, product mix, pricing, marketing support and NPD.
2. Full P&L responsibility for branded sales in the specific region to include management of the A&P budget.
3. To build excellent relationships and work closely with the distribution agencies appointed for the designated territories.
4. To ensure listings in all suitable trade channels (wholesale / retail) in advised key territories and to proactively develop key accounts in conjunction with the distribution agencies, ensuring growth and long-term sustainable business.
5. To ensure that products are correctly merchandised by regular store visits, including checking point of sale material, pricing and tracking competitor promotional activity and pricing. 6. To develop and drive the execution of the promotional grid for the brand in conjunction with the appointed advertising agency and distributors, ensuring that promotions are executed effectively, appropriately and in-line with the premium brand positioning.
7. To prepare regular reports on your activities in the market and highlight any issues of note.
8. To research product and distribution opportunities outside the designated key territories or product lines, prioritizing regions and categories offering the most potential.
9. To monitor inventory levels of products at distributor and trade level.
10. To perform any other duties appropriate to the position.
· Educated to degree level, in food, business or a related area.
· Good working knowledge of the Arabic, French and English languages. · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.· Commercial experience of managing FMCG products.· Previous sales and/or marketing experience is essential, ideally within the Food and Beverage industry.· Entrepreneurial flair with the ability to self-motivate, work unsupervised for long periods and use one’s own initiative.· A willingness to travel.CONTACT: info@consultghi.com
