Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. Background: Daily Assistance of (AVR) beneficiaries: Every AVR beneficiary will be monitored after two months of its implementation and supplementary support, counseling or referrals will be provided accordingly through the business development services, led by Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant.
CONTEXT Under the overall supervision by the Chief of Mission and under direct supervision of the Head of Sub-Office Lagos, the Temporary Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant will:
• Provide monitoring support in the day to day management and functioning of AVRR grants and any other related projects • Assist in developing the beneficiary profile and needs assessment formats. • Review conditions of the business plan as pertaining to AVRR program and assist in the development of appropriate monitoring tools for individual grants. • Conduct field visits to the beneficiaries' business sites and take note of developments thereof of grants. • Ensure the documentation of all beneficiaries and that this is filed and entered in a database for reference and monitoring reporting. • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications: Minimum of Secondary School /Diploma certificate
Experience: Knowledge and experience on evaluation, information management; or similar is required. Experience working in a multi-cultural environment and organization an advantage.
Desirable Competencies:
Behavioral: a) Creates a respectful office environment free of harassment and retaliation, and promotes the prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA) ; b) Work effectively with all AVR beneficiaries and staff.
Skills: Good computer skills (word, excel etc). Ability to relate well with people.
Language: Thorough knowledge of English (both written and spoken).
NOTE: The applicant must be able to live and work in Lagos.
