My client, a global offshore contractor, is currently looking for a Project Manager to be responsible for the overall management, planning, cost, coordination and performance of contracts assigned to him and to be the liaison between the client and the company. This is a contract position in Nigeria.
The main responsibilities include; - Supporting the proposal team during bid preparation if applicable. - Assisting with the review the contract documents and the Project Handover Report from Sales Department, including identification of pending matters, to obtain clarification of any unclear information and highlight contractual items requiring special follow-up or involving exceptional risks. - Serving as the primary liaison with the Client during the performance of the project, including change order negotiations. - Establishing and updating a project execution plan and project organisation. - Approving the planning for the various activities of the project as prepared by Planning Engineer. - Monitoring progress and updating the planning as necessary to ensure that delivery dates are met. - Ensuring with the QA Engineer that the QA & Safety plans, the criticality level and inspection level assessments are prepared and implemented. - Reviewing the contract specifications and requirements to determine potential fabrication yards and suppliers. To approve the bidders list for the construction yards and the major equipment suppliers prepared by the Construction Department and Supply Chain Department. - Monitoring, in collaboration with the Engineering Department, the production of drawings and specifications by the Engineering Department and ensure that all measures are taken to meet the Project Technical requirements (Quality, planning, etc...). - Approving the document Distribution Matrix with the Engineering Project Manager. - Approving with the Supply Chain Department the procurement schedule. - Reviewing and approving the Request For Quotations or bid invitations, for standard items, prepared by the Supply Chain Department. - Reviewing the offers with Supply Chain Department and approving the corresponding Purchase Requisitions. - Ensuring that COMPANY and CLIENT's safety regulations are implemented, and included in Purchase Orders and Subcontracts. - Preparing the bid packages for the fabrication yards and the major components of the system. - Conducting the bid evaluations in collaboration with the relevant departments (Engineering, QA, Construction, Administration) and the client representative(s) if requested. - Finalising the Fabrication or Supply Chain Contracts. - Reviewing with the Construction Department the organisation of the site supervision team. - Preparing the eventual budget variance and obtain approval from the Department Manager concerned. - Ensuring efficient and accurate administration of the contract in collaboration with the Project Administrator. - Developing and administering contract cost reports with budget and trend forecasts highlighted. - Reviewing the monthly Financial Forecast. - Being accountable for the overall financial aspects of the project(s), including the achievement of the planned profitability. - Monitoring the invoicing process to Client(s) as well as from suppliers and subcontractors. - Conducting periodic progress meetings with the client representative(s) and the relevant Company personnel. - Obtaining final completion certificate including approval of Non-Conformance Reports. - Ensuring that the project documents are duly filed (archived at the end of the project). - Issuing the Final Project Report upon completion of the project. - Assisting and replacing, as necessary, the Senior Project Manager when assigned to a major project.
The ideal candidate will; - Have a university degree in Engineering - Have a background in offshore work - Have a minimum of 3 years working in a design office or on sit in offshore industry, engineering or construction companies - Have significant Project Management knowledge.
