Principal Drilling Engineer (Semi submersible) - Nigeria

WTS Energy is seeking to hire Principal Drilling Engineer (Semi submersible) for one of it client who is an international Oil & Gas operating company. Principal Drilling Engineer (Semi Submersible) will lead a team of drilling/completion and well test engineers in planning and supporting the safe and efficient delivery of development, exploration and appraisal wells in water-depths up to 700ft, offshore Nigeria.

The responsibilities of Principal Drilling Engineer (Semi Submersible) include but are not limited to the following,

High pressure / narrow margin drilling techniques,High angle / extended reach drilling,Subsea completions and well testing,Third party staff, service and equipment quality,Complex supply chain and logistics.Interaction with other (G&G) departments

Requirements:

Principal Drilling Engineer (Semi submersible) minimum of 15 years relevant experience, of which at least 5 years in a similar position.Extensive experience involving semi’s, knowledge of onshore and jack-up operations would be beneficial.Previous Nigerian / West African experience is advantageousTechnical / engineering qualification required.IWCF sub sea well control at supervisory level or equivalent.Exemplary HSE leadership.Strong drive for continuous performance improvement.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of leading effectively in a multi-cultural society.Team leadership capabilitiesCompletion and testing experienceAble to work under sustained high workload, meet tight deadlines yet still deliver quality workCompetency with drilling engineering softwareProficiency with spreadsheets, word processors and presentation software.Project management skillsExcellent knowledge of drilling engineering and international industry standards, ideally acquired while working for a large international operator.Good organisation and project management skills, ensuring efficient application of the company’s well delivery and commercial processes.Contracts and contractor managementWork Schedule: 28/28 days rotation12 months, renewable based on performance.For this position, preference will be given to Nigerian nationals. In case Expatriate candidate(s) are selected it is a prerequisite he/she is tasked to mentor and train a Nigerian understudy
