We seek qualified candidates for the position of Director, Medical Services based in Abuja, Nigeria.
Position Responsibilities:
The Director, Medical Services provides technical leadership and management of HIV/AIDS (and related public health areas) prevention, care, treatment and support in the GHAIN project and FHI/Nigeria. Responsibilities include: Provides technical expertise and leadership for the design and implementation of HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and treatment and support programs; Works in close coordination with the Chief of Party/GHAIN and Country Director/FHI, and the relevant staff of USAID/Nigeria; Provides leadership and supervision to the Associate Directors of Medical Services, and work in close association with other technical Directors and technical leads in other Departments; Ensures that high quality and state of the art HIV prevention, care and treatment interventions are implemented in a timely manner and in coordination and collaboration with GHAIN partners, other USG partners and the GON; Participates in the GHAIN management team and represents the Deputy Chief of Party or Chief of Party in their absence; Ensures the technical training and staff development in Medical Services in the GHAIN Project in relevant areas; Represents the GHAIN Project and FHI at local and international meetings; Performs other duties assigned by the Chief of Party.
Minimum Requirements:
BS/BA in public health or related field, and 11-13 years relevant experience in international development programs with 5-7 years supervisory experience; or MS/MA/MPH in public health or related field, and 9 - 11 years relevant experience in international development programs, with 5-7 years supervisory experience; or PhD, MD or equivalent degree with 7 - 9 years relevant experience in HIV/AIDS or family planning with international development programs and 5-7 years of supervisory experience. Overseas field experience required.
