Quarry Manager
Location: Africa
A major Infrastructural Civil building contracting with an international focus is immediately seeking to fill a position for newly won projects in Central Africa. The projects are almost exclusively Roads and Bridges projects and the firm have a very successful reputation in this field in the region as well as an impressive on- going and upcoming portfolio of major projects in Civil and in General Building.
Requirements:
- Ideally 10 years+ with a minimum of 3 years experience in this field
- Experience in drilling, blasting and open pit mining
- Comprehensiveknowledge of production and maintenance of crushing plants
- Preferably a good technical background (Mechanical or Electrical)
- Self motivated personality with ability to solve problems
- Good communication skills, written – verbal in English
Description of duties:
- In charge of Quarry operations (at one of the companies quarries), to ensure most timely and cost effective production of aggregates, and efficient utilization of all crusher and support equipments.
- To organize and supervise the daily and weekly maintenance of the crushing plant, in order to minimize the breakdown time of the crushing plant.
- To follow up the production and maintenance schedules.
- Assist with the implementation of equipment maintenance programs.
- Establish high standards of work performance and optimum product quality.
- Promote quality control, safety programs and regulatory compliance.
- To prepare a detailed monthly report
