Save the Children in Nigeria

Save the Children in Nigeria Country activity is expanding rapidly, especially its nutrition, maternal, child and newborn health programmes. Save the Children’s work currently covers nine states with potential expansion of SC activities into other two new states in the North. The programme’s headquarters is in Abuja with Offices in Katsina (plus satellite base in Daura), Kaduna, Kano . We work directly in the States and through partners. This position manages the overall operations and programme delivery aspects of the country programme.

Logistics Manager

The Logistics Manager is responsible to the Country Director for supporting improvements and providing management in all logistics and procurement functions including the supply chain, fleet, assets and communications in coordination with the logistic and procurement together staff. The Logistics Manager will provide technical support and strategic planning to future initiatives to increase the in-country logistic and procurement capacity and support to the programs. This requires a highly motivated and detail solution oriented individual who will be able to resolve operational critical challenges as they arise.

The ideal candidate requires a degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field with 3–5 years of experience in managing large scale NGO logistical and procurement functions. She/he should have International experience in supply chain management in an emergency environment including procurement, transport and distribution, warehouse and stock management; The candidate should have a valid working visa/permit in order to be considered for this role and must be willing to travel to field locations. A valid Nigerian work permit will be required for this position.
